What is FF&E logistics?

FF&E stands for Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment: every piece of furniture, fixture and equipment that finishes a hotel and isn't part of the building's structure. FF&E logistics handles the full chain — from the first supplier confirming delivery to the last artwork being hung in its bedroom.

In a typical hotel opening, between 20 and 60 different suppliers deliver in different windows, with different pallet formats and different lead times. Someone has to receive everything, inspect it, store it and know exactly where each piece is when the installation crew steps into the building.

That someone is Inters. We have been doing exactly that across Spain for more than 30 years.

What the service covers

Receiving & inventory control

A single receiving point for every supplier on the project. Inspection on unload, signed delivery notes, incidents documented. Direct line to the project manager whenever something doesn't arrive in expected condition.

Temporary storage

Owned warehouses in Madrid and Barcelona with real-time inventory control. Stock segregated by project, restricted access. Capacity to receive long before the building is ready.

Floor-by-floor distribution

Vertical and horizontal transport inside the hotel with crews trained for both construction environments and live operation. Access planning so we don't clash with other trades still finishing the building.

Installation & assembly

Crew specialised in hospitality furniture: beds, headboards, desks, lighting, artwork and in-room technical equipment. We know the timings and which finishes can't be scratched.

Supplier coordination

One point of contact for every delivery on the project. We chase each supplier; the project manager gets one consolidated status report, not twenty different phone calls.

Packaging waste management

Removal, sorting and disposal of post-installation packaging waste. The hotel is clean on opening day — not buried in cardboard and strapping.

A hotel opening has a date. It doesn't move.

We come on board 8–12 weeks before the first scheduled delivery. From there we run the full logistics project: one phone call, one report, zero surprises on opening day.

Who this service is for

Hotel chains managing an opening, partial renovation or full retrofit who need a logistics operator in Spain with owned infrastructure and a crew experienced in hospitality environments.

Real estate developers building a hotel asset who need to coordinate FF&E delivery with construction progress, with an operator that understands the rhythms of the build.

Project managers and consultancies looking for a trusted logistics partner to bring into the team from the planning phase, before the first supplier contracts are signed.

Interior designers and design studios that need an operator able to deliver the final installation while protecting finishes and design intent.

How we work

1. Project kick-off
We join the project 8 to 12 weeks before the first scheduled delivery. We review the delivery plan with the project manager, define the receiving protocol and set the points of contact.

2. Receiving & storage
Suppliers deliver into our facilities. Every package is checked in: counted, inspected and documented. If something is wrong, the project manager hears about it the same day.

3. Distribution & installation
Once the building is ready, we mobilise the crew. We plan the sequence floor by floor to avoid clashing with other trades who may still be finishing work.

4. Handover & documentation
Full report at completion: inventory installed by room, incidents closed, any open items. The project manager has everything documented.

Why Inters and not a generic logistics operator

A generic operator doesn't know what a retrofit in a live 4-star hotel actually looks like. They don't know you can't roll a pallet jack through the lobby at 11 in the morning. They don't know the lighting supplier will arrive three days late and that this changes the entire headboard installation sequence.

We do. Because we have spent more than 30 years running projects exactly like yours.

  • Owned infrastructure — Warehouses in Madrid and Barcelona. We don't subcontract storage.
  • FIDI / TÜV certified — International logistics quality standard, audited externally.
  • Bilingual team — For projects with international chains and European suppliers.
  • Direct contact — Your project manager talks to the person actually running the project at Inters.
  • +30 years' experience — In corporate, hospitality and international moves across Spain.

FF&E logistics FAQ

How far in advance should we contact Inters?

As early as possible. Ideally once the project has a confirmed opening date and supplier contracts are in progress. On large projects we come on board 8 to 12 weeks before the first scheduled delivery.

Do you only work in Madrid and Barcelona?

Our owned facilities are in Madrid and Barcelona, but we operate across the whole of Spain. For projects outside these cities, distribution and installation is mobilised from our warehouses.

What happens if a supplier delivers late or with incidents?

We handle the issue directly with the supplier and notify the project manager the same day. We have contingency protocols to reshuffle the installation sequence as needed.

Can you also handle OS&E?

We can coordinate it within the same distribution project. Talk to us depending on the OS&E (Operating Supplies & Equipment) volume.

Do you handle furniture imports from abroad?

Yes. We handle customs clearance and coordinate with international freight forwarders for furniture arriving from outside Spain or the EU.
